BST International has registered very positive results at this year's drupa. The company presented numerous newly developed products at the largest world-wide specialised trade fair for the printing sector.
In total, BST International presented twelve product innovations at the drupa. For the first time a version of the SHARK 100% print defect inspection system was presented for the wide web segment. The SHARK 4000 finds defects in real time on the whole web with a width of up to 2,040 mm. In addition, digital cameras register up to 7,000 pixels per second. To date SHARK existed in a version for the narrow web segment. A new equipment generation was also developed for this segment and presented for the first time at the drupa 2008. The SHARK 4000 LEX incorporates numerous new hard and software functions.
The new SUPER HANDYScan 4000 video web inspection system is equipped with a high resolution digital camera and presented to the specialised public. As a result a video web inspection system with the highest image quality is now offered as from now in the lower price segment. The SUPER HANDYScan 4000 is based on a completely digital concept, whereby extremely precise data processing and high system stability are achieved.
The new ISM 4000 inline spectral colour measurement system enables the measurement and the analysis of the printed colours in the colour space at full machinery speed. As a result the colour quality can be permanently monitored and controlled.
In addition, BST International also exhibited the new CLS Pro 600 line and contrast sensor, the new AR 4000 register control system as well as the PREMIUS digital with 3 chip digital camera technology high end print management system, which has already been successfully introduced on the market.
The reaction of the customers at the drupa was exceptionally positive. According to initial analyses both the number of visitors at the stand of BST International as well as the volume of the orders acquired at the trade fair were substantially higher than the comparative amounts registered at the last Drupa in 2004.
