The Color Monitoring option performs automatic comparison of the actual on-press color with previously stored standard values at user-defined positions on the web. When actual print color approaches the set outside tolerance, an alarm alerts the operator and shows where the developing color problem is located on the web. The result is consistent color from roll-to-roll.
The system supports the following color spaces:
Depending on the color space selected, color deviations are indicated either as Delta E value or as biggest component difference.

A recent independent study was undertaken to access the correlation of color results between PREMIUS digital 3Chip
and a spectrodensitometer. The results, presented at the
North American Flexographic Technical Association Forum, found a striking correlation between color data from a spectrodensitometer and this system. No other system in the world has had its color effectiveness measured and reported by an independent study.
For each position, the current color values, the stored refer-
ence values and the detected color deviations are numerically displayed on the touch screen.
A graphic display of current and reference color, side-by-side, provides a means to visually check color consistency and recognize deviations instantaneously.
User-defined warning and alarm thresholds define the range of acceptable color. As soon as one of the detected differences exceeds the preset threshold, the system displays a warning or alarm message and triggers an alarm.
