PREMIUS digital 3Chip utilizes powerful algorithms which allow it to automatically detect all typical print defects such as streaks, hickeys, splash, voids, mis-register, missing type, fill-in, etc. Print quality can be effectively managed throughout the run, resulting in reduced waste and happier customers. Adjustable warning and alarm thresholds let you decide when a defect is a defect and when it is not. As soon as the detected difference of one type of defect exceeds the preset threshold, the system displays a warning or alarm message and triggers an alarm.

Advanced process control features combined with the superior resolution of our 3 chip digital camera mean more accurate and reliable defect detection, done automatically over the entire area. Highly sophisticated algorithms compensate for web stretch, movement, tension variations and snap-back common with extensible films providing effective defect detection on a wide variety of substrates, even 1⁄2 mil PE. Advanced Image-Lock with Global Positioning guarantees a steady image, automatically stabilizes possible image-offset and deploys a Trigger-Tracking facility to automatically correct image drifting caused by web tension variation.
Unique software features allow you to determine if and when a particular defect should be flagged or defined as acceptable; or to select certain areas of the job for more or less compre-
hensive inspection. Separate sensitivity settings for each type of defect allow you to effectively target, identify and eliminate the kinds of defects that are most troublesome for you.
Defect sensivity is adjustable over a range of 0 to 100, en-
abling the system to readily adapt to different user, substrate and process control needs. Defects identified are highlighted along with their degree of severity, helping operators prioritize corrective action.
By using the XL field of view (XL-FOV) defect detection on the entire repeat can now be performed 4 times faster than be-
fore. The amount of material inspected is also 4 times greater. Defects are found and corrected far more quickly, resulting in less waste and greater productivity from the press. Even the smallest print defects hardly noticeable to the naked eye can be recognized with ease.
