Printing of perfect bar codes is an absolute requirement today for suppliers of package goods.
On press, bar code quality can change dramatically in a very short period of time. Unless bar codes are being continuously monitored on press, this occurs without the operators’ knowledge. This often results in substantial fines, not to mention lost customers.
Programming of bar codes is done quickly and easily.
The system locates all bar code positions on the repeat automatically. Settings like selection of a suitable zoom level are adjusted automatically as well.
Alternatively, you can set up bar code positions manually, e.g. if you want to inspect only single bar codes on the repeat.
All parameters and settings are saved and thus can always be called up again. This reduces set up times to a minimum.
The barcode quality is checked and graded in accordance with international standards.
The analysis algorithm evaluates all criteria defined in the standards and also checks for bar growth. The system then assigns a grade to each individual criteria. The overall grade
(in accordance with ISO and ANSIspecifications) is equal to the lowest grade of any one criteria.
The inspection results (coded text, barcode type, quality grade) are displayed on the touch screen and the inspection monitor separately. In addition, the previous 100 inspections are graphically displayed, allowing the operator to immediately recognize trends.

The PREMIUS digital 3Chip software option Barcode Check is a powerful tool for monitoring bar code quality on press at full speed, with very little effort. It will allow you to ship finished products to your customers with confidence in the bar code quality.
The Barcode Check software optionautomatically identifies the type of bar code and its orientation on the web. The system can read the following static bar code symbologies:
Further bar code types available on request.
User-defined warning and alarm thresholds can be set for the overall quality grade as well as individual criteria.
Whenever bar code quality falls below the defined quality thresholds, the system displays a warning or alarm message and triggers an alarm.
