Extrusion Lines (Extruder): Two examples are Triplex or Quadroplex lines, producing tread and sidewall.
The task:
- The dimension of the product needs to be carefully controlled and, the product itself has to be guided before rewinding..
The solution:
- Use of a Web Width Measuring System with CCD cameras and a Weigh System. Both variables, web width and weight in combination, are important to control if the extruder is to produce tread or sidewall of consistent quality.
- Additionally to the material quality it is important to rewind the material in constant position in the bobbins to have the best precondition for downstream processes such as the tire building machine.
- Managing quality during the production process produces a substantial benefit in terms of scrap reduction. In addition, overall quality is improved.
